TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation will host a screening of the Cherokee-dubbed film “How to Train Your Dragon” Thursday night at the Admiral Twin Drive-In in Tulsa. The event is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis, with a maximum of 600 vehicles. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and the film begins at 7:30 p.m. English subtitles will be shown on screen.

In 2025, the Cherokee Nation partnered with DreamWorks Animation and NBCUniversal to dub the animated film in Cherokee. The Cherokee-dubbed version can be streamed on Peacock as well. The project represents the Cherokee Nation's approach to language revitalization by creating modern, engaging content for learners and speakers.
