FORT GIBSON, Okla. — Cherokee Casino Fort Gibson will welcome one of Nashville’s most celebrated young songwriters and breakout stars, Greylan James, at 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at 3 Rivers Tavern inside the casino.
James’ debut radio single, “Wait Til You Have Kids,” along with buzzworthy new tracks like “Water at a Wedding,” showcase the impeccable songwriting and artistry that led SiriusXM to hail him as “a superstar just beginning to hit his stride.”
From the moment his papaw gifted him his first guitar at the age of 5, Nashville breakout star Greylan James has been destined for a career in country music. The Knoxville-raised singer-songwriter has been chasing that dream since his earliest days, when he showed up to school in cleats and cowboy hats and performed everywhere he could — from tailgates and patios to dive bars and even funerals around his hometown.
Since moving to Nashville eight years ago, James has become one of the industry’s most celebrated young songwriters, earning cuts with some of country’s biggest names, including Kenny Chesney, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Darius Rucker, Chris Janson, Bailey Zimmerman, BRELAND and more. He co-wrote Jordan Davis’ smash hit “Next Thing You Know,” which soared to No. 1 and earned James his first ACM Award for Song of the Year, as well as a BMI Award and a CMA Award nomination. To date, his growing songbook includes three No. 1 hits and more than 900 million streams.
James has toured with chart-topping acts, including Old Dominion and Scotty McCreery, and he will join Cole Swindell on tour this fall.
The show is free to those 21 and older.
