ROLAND, Okla. — Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland will welcome three-time platinum honky-tonk country legend Mark Chesnutt at 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Lee Creek Tavern inside the casino.

One of the most recognizable country voices of the 1990s, Chesnutt rose to prominence with a string of chart-topping hits, including “Bubba Shot the Jukebox,” “Too Cold at Home,” “Going Through the Big D,” “It Sure Is Monday,” “It’s a Little Too Late” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” His neotraditional, honky-tonk sound has earned him stylistic comparisons to the great George Jones.

After signing with MCA Nashville in 1989, he quickly became one of country music’s most consistent hitmakers, earning 14 No. 1 singles and 23 Top 10 songs by the end of the decade. His success includes more than 12 million albums sold, a CMA Horizon Award and recognition from Billboard as one of the most-played country artists of the 1990s. He also won a CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year in 1993 for a collaboration on “I Don’t Need Your Rockin' Chair” with Jones.

Throughout his career, he has recorded several cover songs as both singles and album cuts, including interpretations of music by Hank Williams Jr., John Anderson, Don Gibson, Conway Twitty and Charlie Rich, and has collaborated with artists such as Jones, Tracy Byrd, Vince Gill and Alison Krauss.

Today, Chesnutt is continuing his 2025-26 “Redemption Tour,” marking a new chapter in his career shaped by a recommitment to his health, sobriety and live performances. Following major heart surgery in 2024, he returned to the stage with a fresh perspective, delivering performances that reflect both his personal growth and the unmistakable voice that made him a country staple.

Chesnutt’s current tour highlights the songs that built his legacy while showcasing a performer more focused and energized than ever. Fans can expect an authentic honky-tonk experience led by one of the genre’s most recognizable voices.

The show is free to those 21 and older.
