Celebrated for its signature blend of Red Dirt and Texas country, Jason Boland & The Stragglers have carved out a remarkable 25-year career rooted in authenticity, bold songwriting and relentless touring. Formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in 1998 by Harrah native Jason Boland while he was attending Oklahoma State University, the band quickly rose to prominence after the release of its debut album, “Pearl Snaps,” in 1999.

Over the years, Boland, along with current bandmates Grant Tracy on bass and Nick Gedra on fiddle and mandolin, has helped define and elevate the Red Dirt genre, earning widespread critical acclaim and a dedicated, nationwide fan base.

Known for compelling narratives and gritty musicianship, the band has released a series of successful studio and live albums, including “Truckstop Diaries,” “Somewhere in the Middle,” “Dark & Dirty Mile” and the fan-favorite live recording “Live and Lit at Billy Bob’s Texas.” The band’s catalog reflects a fearless approach to storytelling, from the deeply personal to the wildly imaginative, most notably showcased in Boland’s 2021 sci-fi concept album, “The Light Saw Me,” praised by SPIN as one of the year’s “most surprising, left-field country albums.”

The band’s most recent release, “The Last Kings of Babylon,” marks its 11th studio album and captures a reflective yet forward-driving snapshot of a group still evolving after a quarter century on the road. Produced by legendary musician and longtime collaborator Lloyd Maines, the album pushes sonic boundaries while honoring the tradition and craft that have defined the Stragglers’ sound. Recorded largely live in the studio, the tracks showcase bold songwriting, raw energy and the band’s continued commitment to creating music that stands the test of time.

Over the group’s career, Jason Boland & The Stragglers have performed on some of the most iconic stages in country music, from the Ryman Auditorium to the Grand Ole Opry, and have collaborated with respected artists, including Shooter Jennings and Robert Earl Keen. The New York Times has lauded Boland as “one of the country scene’s most multidimensional songwriters,” while Rolling Stone has praised the band’s “steady, reliable source of smart, gritty songwriting.”

Both shows are free and open to those 21 years and older.
