TULSA, Okla. — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa will welcome multiplatinum rock band Shinedown members Brent Smith and Zach Myers, performing together as Smith & Myers on the Hard Rock Live stage Thursday, January 21, 2027, at 8 p.m.
The acoustic duo reveals a more intimate side, pairing Smith's powerful vocals and Myers' guitar work with thoughtful songwriting and minimal instrumentation.
Smith & Myers launched the project in 2014 with two acoustic cover EPs, “Acoustic Sessions, Part 1” and “Acoustic Sessions, Part 2,” which drew an overwhelming response from fans and sold out live shows.
The duo followed with its first full-length releases, the double album “Smith & Myers Volume 1 and Volume 2.” Together, the albums feature 10 original songs and 10 reimagined covers by artists such as Neil Young, Post Malone, INXS, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse, The Righteous Brothers, Billie Eilish, Peter Gabriel, Billy Idol, R.E.M. and Oasis.
Among the duo’s original songs are “Not Mad Enough,” a powerful reflection on racial injustice and a call for change, and “Bad at Love,” a vulnerable song about the challenges of maintaining a romantic relationship. “Volume 1” also features Smith & Myers’ rendition of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World,” while “Volume 2” includes the alt-rock song “One More Time.”
Produced by Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter Dave Bassett, “Volume 1 and Volume 2” explore themes of love, fearlessness, vulnerability, social media, immigration, racial injustice and human connection. Rather than focusing on politics, Smith & Myers use their music to examine questions of right and wrong and the shared experiences that connect people.
Smith & Myers’ acoustic performances offer a stripped-down showcase of their chemistry, and their work together reveals a different but equally powerful side of the musicians best known for their work with Shinedown.
