TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. recently named Brittany Denny-Davis as Executive Director of Human Services.
Denny-Davis began her career with the tribe in 2011, where she served in multiple roles in the Human Services department, including Director of Family Assistance and Interim Executive Director of Human Services before being named Executive Director in July.
“It’s very evident that Brittany Denny-Davis has a heart and drive to serve Cherokee citizens and others. In her time as interim executive director, Brittany has shown us all that she is more than capable to lead this department,” Chief Hoskin said. “Our Human Services department contributes vital, important work for our citizens and I know under her leadership, they will continue to ensure that the Cherokee citizens will receive the support and care they deserve.”
Denny-Davis oversees 611 employees that help operate Family Assistance, Elder Services, Food Distribution, Child Care & Development, Child Support, Indian Child Welfare and Youth Services & Special Programs.
In 2026, During her time as interim executive director, Denny-Davis oversaw the largest single year expansion of the tribe’s elder nutrition program in Cherokee Nation history, a tribally funded initiative under the Public Health and Wellness Fund Act.
“I am so very blessed for the opportunity to serve as Executive Director of Human Services. I look forward to continuing this important work alongside an incredible team of dedicated staff whose commitment makes all that we do possible. Most of all, I am excited to serve our citizens with a servant’s heart and continue making a positive difference,” she said.
She grew up in Colcord, where she attended Colcord Public Schools. She then earned an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Haskell Indian Nations University and a bachelor’s degree in social work from Northeastern State University.
She now resides in Tahlequah with her husband and two daughters.
