The Cherokee Nation will send off eight veterans participating in the tribe’s Warrior Flight to Washington, D.C., recognizing their service during the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and in Kuwait.

CATOOSA, Okla. — The Cherokee Nation will host a luncheon to honor and send off eight veterans leaving on the tribe’s 14th Warrior Flight to Washington, D.C., recognizing their service during the Vietnam War, the Gulf War and Kuwait.
The Cherokee Nation funds the flight for Cherokee veterans to see the national war memorials erected in their honor in the nation’s capital.
Warriors will be presented with flight vests and caps during the luncheon.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa employees will also celebrate and honor the Warriors by waving flags as they leave for the airport.
Warriors will leave from Tulsa International Airport Tuesday, April 21, and will arrive back on Friday, April 24.
